    The park is situated conveniently located off the A6 in the beautiful village of Bilsborough. This gives ease of travel to the lively cities of Lancaster, Preston and the aesthetic Fairtrade town Garstang.

    The park is situated next to the Lancaster Canal which has a picturesque setting making it a popular walking destination. Activities revolving around the canal include fishing, canoeing and cruises. The park is situated in close walking distance to the local post office and village store. A five-minute walk leads you to Turner's Fish and Chips, The White Bull restaurant and a friendly local pub The Roebuck. At a ten-minute walk from the park is Guy's Thatched Hamlet which includes 'Owd Nell's tavern which serves local food with a weekly pub quiz and features its own ice cream parlour, Guy's Restaurant and Pizzeria serving authentic Italian food and sports areas for bowling, golf and cricket.

    A fifteen-minute walk from Sunnyside park leads you to Barton Grange Garden Centre. Here you can buy not only garden and house furniture but also clothing, pet care, cooking essentials, gifts and local goods at the farm shop. The centre also features a restaurant and cafe and holds events throughout the year such as painting master classes.

    Ten minutes from the park is Garstang. Garstang has a weekly market which has been running since the thirteen-hundreds selling a large range of local foodstuffs produce as well as household items, clothes and more. Alongside the market- the high street is also home to a large range of independent retailers and cafes making Garstang the ideal town for a leisurely browse followed by coffee and cake.

    Garstang is also the ideal walking destination with its picturesque backdrops such as that of the town's Millennium Green which is located on the western bank of the River Wyre and has been set aside for wildlife conservation and for those interested in the town's history Heritage trail walks are also available which provide an opportunity to explore both the town's architectural beauty and deep-rooted history.

    The park is located near the M6 which runs from near Rugby up to Carlisle. This provides easy access to the cities of both Lancaster and Preston. Lancaster a roughly half an hour in the car from the park and is deep-rooted in history with stunning Georgian architecture. The city offers a perfect day out with its famous Williamson Park, a scenic natural setting home to the stunning butterfly house. Lancaster is also a brilliant shopping location and is renowned for its quirky boutiques, independent stores and Charter Market which is open twice-weekly and is home to over forty stalls with a wide selection of goods from homemade foods to clothes. The city offers leisurely activities for the grandchildren such as Energy Indoor Soft Play as well as great family days out at Lancaster Canal Cruises and Waterbus and Lancaster Castle. Preston city is twenty minutes from the park and is home to the beautifully-designed Guild Hall- venue for music concerts, dramatics, ballroom dancing, bingo and much more. Eateries within Preston range from loved chain restaurants such as and cafes as well as local pubs and quirky independent coffee shops, bars and fine diners.
