You can easily explore the stunning Howardian Hills, the North York Moors National Park, the gorgeous North Yorkshire coastline and the delightful resorts of Whitby, Scarborough, and Filey from this lovely base. In addition, there are many attractions within easy reach of the Castle Howard Lakeside Holiday Park, such as the charming market towns of Malton, Pickering and Helmsley which are all full of delicious eateries, welcoming pubs and independent shops to browse. The historic city of York is just 16 miles from the park and offers a host of restaurants, activities and heritage that you can enjoy on many a visit.

As well as enjoying a lovely rural setting, Castle Howard Lakeside Holiday Park is conveniently located for visiting Castle Howard. Holiday homeowners at the park also enjoy free annual memberships to the house, gardens and parkland meaning they can visit as often as they want. Special events such as outdoor cinemas, classic car days and many more run throughout the year, leading up to the spectacular Christmas event that involves the Castle being transformed into a Christmas wonderland. The historic Castle Howard is within walking distance of the park, and Malton, a picturesque market town in Yorkshire, is just a short drive away. Several facilities at the park will ensure that your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

There are several facilities for your convenience on-site. Located in the reception of the holiday park, the shop stocks a selection of food from fresh bread, eggs, and milk to delicious meat from the Castle Howard butchery. A choice of Castle Howard jams and chutneys will be available, alongside a selection of cakes, biscuits and lots of other special treats.

The shop is licensed and will sell a range of wines and beers as well as our very own Castle Howard Gin and a small selection of cocktails. The shop will be open daily from 9-5pm throughout the spring, summer and autumn. Opening hours may vary in line with reception opening times during winter.

You will find a coin-operated washing machine and a dryer on the premises, although many holiday homes come with your own washing machine. Castle Howard Farm Shop in Castle Howard's Stable Courtyard is nearby.  The parks farm shop is convenient for picking up everyday groceries, fresh bread and cakes, fruit and vegetables, cheese, gins, beers, and wines and spirits made on the farm. Inside the store is a butchery where you can pick up locally sourced meat, poultry, and game for the barbecue or to cook your breakfast.

The park is very dog friendly with many owners bringing their four legged family to stay. There is a designated area where they can walk their dogs. In addition, dog owners can enjoy many footpaths and bridleways on the estate and the grounds of dog-friendly Castle Howard.
