Buyer search interest for park homes, lodges and static caravans was 41% higher from January to October 2026 than in the same months of 2025, according to the Park Industry Demand Index from Sell My Group. Holiday homes drove the rise, up 58%. By October the lift had passed, and search interest was level with last year.
Holiday homes: buyers came early
Holiday home search interest ran ahead of 2025 every month from February to September, peaking 113% above 2025 in March. In October it matched last year. If 2026 repeats in 2027, holiday buyers will start searching from February.
Residential: steady, with a housing market to watch
Residential park home search interest was 11% above 2025 from January to October. The wider housing market is slower, which matters to buyers who need to sell a house before they move. Parks offering assisted move schemes or part exchange can help.
Where buyers are enquiring
Cumbria drew the most buyer enquiries through Sell My Group from August to October, with Lancashire close behind. Lancashire enquiries rose 83% on May to July, and Norfolk's almost tripled.
What homes cost
The median static caravan listed on Sell My Group is £49,995, the median lodge £139,995 and the median residential park home £260,000. About 9 in 10 static caravans are priced under £100,000.
What buyers look for
Residential buyers search first for year-round living and over-50s parks. Holiday buyers search first for sea views. On sellmygroup.co.uk, pet friendly is the filter buyers use most.
What it means for you
- Buying: search interest drops every autumn, so fewer people are looking over the winter. Browse homes for sale.
- Selling: list before February, when this year's holiday buyers started searching.
- Running a park: stay visible through the winter, and put assisted move and part exchange at the front of residential marketing.
Comment from Justin Allitt
Justin Allitt, Managing Director of Sell My Group, said: "Buyers didn't wait for summer this year. They were searching from February and kept going right through August. If you're thinking of buying, winter is your quiet window: fewer people are looking, and parks have time to talk. If you're selling, get listed before February. And if you need to sell a house first, ask the park about part exchange or an assisted move before you rule anything out."
