The exterior styling has a lovely welcoming feel created by a cottage-style front door, full-height windows and CanExel, Ced’R-Vue, 9” lap cladding in Sandalwood (other colours and claddings available).
Step inside and the feel is warm and homely. The main entrance opens up into the kitchen where there’s a convenient country-style hall bench and a mirror with coat hooks.
The kitchen is a practical arrangement; semi open-plan with borrowed light from the main living space, a central wall provides space for a ‘hide & slide’ oven with separate hob. There’s a full compliment of integrated luxury branded appliances here and soft cream kitchen units, Louvre Jade tiling, a ceramic sink and a Roman blind in a pretty Mallard design fabric finish the look.
The lounge / dining area has a woodland feel created by feature, stacked log wallpaper to the far wall. Here a false chimneybreast with a distressed oak mantelpiece and an electric stove set on a tiled hearth creates a lovely cosy feel, and a comfortable sofa along with two wingback armchairs (designed exclusively for Wessex), provide plenty of room for the whole family to sit back and relax.
To the dining area there’s a rustic dining table and benches in solid acacia. Over-lit by a designer, industrial pendant light this space has a relaxed, casual feel; the perfect environment for drawn out meals with friends.
Through into the bedrooms and the warm and cosy feel continues. The master bedroom makes a striking impression with a feature panelled wall with wall niches which include USB points and lights. There’s a four-poster bed, designer lighting and a dressing chest, wardrobes and bedside cabinets provide storage in style!
Two different options are available for the en-suite; as a first for Wessex, the show model included a wet-room area with a freestanding bath and shower, but there’s also a standard shower room model if that’s your preference.
The second bedroom with twin beds, oak furniture and Roman blinds in a pretty hare design also has wall niches; with inset lights and USB points these provide a practical space for bedtime essentials such as an alarm clock and a good book.
Nathalie Montague, the Designer of the Spinney from Omar Group commented: “The brief was to design a lodge that was rustic with neutral tones but I also wanted it to be practical and have its own personality and degree of quirkiness!
“Some of my favourite features are: the cubby holes in both bedrooms with lights and USB sockets in; perfect for keeping your bedtime book and cuppa. I was also really pleased with how the wingback chairs and sofa turned out as they were designed especially for the Spinney.
“I wanted to have a 4-poster bed in the master bedroom from the start so when I found one that had a matching full length mirror with unique storage and a drawer unit with a hidden dressing table, I knew it would be perfect! The lights over the bed are handmade and I think add to the magic and intrigue.
“The en-suite wet-room with bath and shower is a first for Wessex – quirky but practical too, especially for ladies (as many of the men learnt at the show). You can enjoy a relaxing bubble bath then rinse off in the rainwater shower; a simple but new concept.
