The Beachcomber Clubhouse, a restaurant serving a range of fresh food and drink options, and entertainment, including Sky and BT sports. Central Beach Holiday Park Location 


Central Beach Holiday Park is located on the East side of the Isle of Sheppey, in Leysdown-on-Sea, a quaint village with much to offer visitors. It is also in driving distance of some beautiful national nature reserves. 


The location of the park is easily accessible to visitors, as there are many transport options available. If you are accessing the park by car you would need to make your way on to the M20, then exit at junction 7 towards Sittingbourne Road/ A249 towards Sheerness. From there, the directions are pretty simple down to the park. Alternatively, if you are accessing the park via public transport you will be able to take a train to Sheerness-on-Sea train station, and then take a bus or a taxi to the park, roughly a nineteen-minute drive. 


The Local Area 


The local area which surrounds Leysdown-on-Sea has much to offer. There are a variety of amenities and attractions. The nearby hamlets of Bay View, Shellness, and Harty neighbour the coastal village, all three come with some interesting history to explore and/or a pub to visit. Located nearby, there are also a variety of shops and restaurants to choose from, offering a range of cuisines from a traditional fish and chips or pub lunch, to a delicious curry house.  Furthermore, a coffee shop and a bakery are on offer to accompany a lovely morning stroll around the village. 


If you enjoy exploring the history of where you are visiting, you cannot miss out on visiting Rose Street Cottages of Curiosities. These are properties that are the only remaining homes on the island built in the 18th and 19th centuries. A great opportunity to see some interesting architecture! 


Further afield, there are two beautiful national natures reserves to visit, The Swale National Nature Reserve and Elmley National Nature Reserve. These are both great opportunities for great days out exploring some incredible scenery of the British countryside and spotting wildlife, whilst getting some fresh air and making memories with the family. In particular, at Swale National Nature Reserve, there is a beautiful sandy beach, great for paddling with the little ones and finding lots of pretty shells. Should you be looking for something more activity-based, there is a brilliant cycle route located at the nearby Barton’s Point Nature Reserve.


Additionally, for those who enjoy being active and taking part in sports, there is a golf club located in the Isle of Sheppey, at Sheerness. A perfect and fun family activity, whether you have any prior experience or not. Also in Sheerness, is The Criterion Blue Town Music Hall, a music hall that hosts a range of live music events and also offers regular cinema showings of newly released films. A great opportunity for a night out whilst visiting the park.
