About Sun Haven Park

Sun Haven Park prides itself on being an environmentally conscious park, boasting a countryside setting and clean air. The ideal locality for walkers and nature lovers. Enabling both a peaceful atmosphere and the sense of community that lodge living provides. The self-contained park has ample amenities, an on-site shop, and pristine facilities. Neighbouring towns and villages can also be accessed on foot or by car and major supermarkets deliver directly.

Sun Haven is owned by the highly respected Lovat Parks, who are known for their exceptional service and building a sense of community within their parks. They have built this within ten beautiful locations across the South of England. They have a reputation for being environmentally aware and conscientious. Following the belief that we all share a responsibility to be kind to our planet, they are driven to protect local wildlife and their habitats.

Location

Sun Haven Park is nestled in the open countryside of a coastal Cornish Valley, Mawgan Porth meaning 'the cove of the little wooded valley river'. The park's location is a 5-minute walk, through woodland, from Mawgan Porth Beach and the area is equidistant from Newquay and Padstow. Sun Haven is easy to access from main roads. Cornwall Airport is only a 7 minutes drive away, and Newquay train station is 20 minutes away.

The Local Area

Mawgan Porth is famed for its Sunday Times Award Winning beach, listed as one of the best in the world. The surrounding village offers a relaxed shopping experience, a multitude of cafes and restaurants, as well as art galleries and quaint, historic architecture. There are many activities available in the local area including pitch and putt on an Iron Age fort, crazy golf, surf schools, a candle factory, as well as guided tours and tastings at local distilleries, vineyards and breweries.

It is also home to the beautiful Japanese Garden. The Garden provides an authentic Japanese design surrounded by a traditional Cornish setting. The Japanese Garden was built as a meditative garden and us, therefore, the ideal space to calm the mind and let go of stress, through reflection and contemplation.

Mawgan Porth sits on the picturesque South West Coastal Path that walkers can enjoy. Travelling North to Padstow the path takes you via the legendary Bedruthan Steps a series of granite stacks that have fallen into the sea, presenting one of the most intriguing stretches of coastline in the UK. And South to Watergate Bay, Porth and Newquay.

Mawgan Porth also offers a year-round programme of light entertainment. Such as, the Donkey Derby races in the summer, a famous annual duck race in which hundreds of plastic ducks compete to get to the beach first and an open sports day on the village green.

Cornish Fresh

Cornish Fresh is a village store with a difference. An unassuming shop on the beachfront of Mawgan Porth that stocks a variety of unusual and exotic products. With freshly ground coffee, pastries and delicatessen.

Bre-pen Farm Shop and Tea Room

Just 4 miles from Sun Haven Bre-pen offers an authentic taste of the countryside: a proper farm shop.
