Widemouth Bay beach is within walking distance or a four-minute drive from the park. The bay and village is a less well known area in Cornwall but has a thriving community and some great places to eat out or enjoy a sun-downer or two! The beach is great for walks, offers beautiful scenery, excellent surfing conditions and is split into two sides, one allowing dogs and the other is dog free. Widemouth Bay also has superb water quality and is a hub for surfers with surfing schools being available to all ages and abilities from inexperienced to advanced-surfers. Located just off the A39 Widemouth Fields is a fantastic launch point for exploring inland and coastal Cornwall or the far reaches of North Devon.
Bude town centre is a seven-minute drive from the park and offers a perfect family day out with an endless list of things to do. There are beautiful gardens to be discovered which include the stunning and fascinating Broomhill Sculpture Gardens, a large range of physical activities to engage in from tranquil fishing lakes to adrenaline-fuelled sports such as shooting and mountain-climbing. A day out in Bude also involves treating the family to either delicious coffee and cake at one of the local cafes, a hearty pub-grub dinner at one of the friendly pubs or a an a la carte, fine dining meal at one of the many high-quality restaurants.
