Winksley Bank Caravan and Lodge Park is a picturesque holiday park that opens from March 1^st to January 7^th each year, offering holidaymakers the opportunity to explore local Ripon and its history.  It is a 15-acre park offering security and on-site support throughout its opening season. 

The grounds are carefully maintained and offer visitors the chance to break away to a quiet, riverside property.  It is close to popular sites of interest such as the historic Fountains Abbey, and is technically based at the edge of Nidderdale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  Therefore, holidayers here may expect to take breaks in the famous Yorkshire greenery at a slow and gentle pace.

Winksley Bank Caravan and Lodge Park is one of few holiday parks at the edge of Nidderdale, which backs onto the Yorkshire Dales National Park.  Therefore, holidaymakers at the park will be able to look across wide countryside and trails.  Countryside walks are only a short drive and walk away from the entrance to the park, and residents will also be able to connect easily to main roads leading into Ripon, Harrogate, Thirsk and more.

Visitors to the park will be able to find the community through links breaking off from the A61, heading left through Ripon and towards Winksley itself.  The A61 is a few miles away from the park, which means it will be far enough away to cause noise or disturbance.  However, visitors may find it close enough to explore the wider region without having to travel too far.

The A61 connects directly to the A1(M).  Therefore, visitors may choose to explore communities North and South such as Leeds, York and the North Pennines.  The park has a rural setting yet may still be convenient for visitors who would like to visit towns and cities across Yorkshire.

The closest town is Ripon, which will offer visitors local shops, restaurants, cafés, bars and leisure facilities.  The town is also well-known for its historic streets and buildings.  The park is built in an area to offer as much peace and quiet as possible.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park is only a short drive or public transport journey away, on the other side of Nidderdale.  However, the general region has other attractions and sites of interest likely to appeal to families and couples.

A popular family resort close to the park is Lightwater Valley, regarded by some as the ‘Alton Towers of the North’.  Ripon itself, meanwhile, may appeal to holidaymakers looking for an educational trip, with ancient buildings and protected streets.  Amongst these is Ripon Cathedral, complete with its own medieval crypt.

Museums in the local area tend to revolve around the law, with courthouse and prison exhibitions close by.  There is also a Workhouse Museum close by, which offers visitors a glance at working conditions during the Victorian era in the local area.

Other local attractions include the popular Galphy Inn, the Ripon Racecourse, and the Brimham Rocks, a National Trust site likely to appeal to climbers.  The Black Sheep Brewery, famous with ale drinkers, is also based close by and is open to visitors.
